ISPS
In December 2002 the IMO adopted new security measures as amendments to the SOLAS Convention. Known as theInternational Ship and Port Facilities Security (ISPS) Code the requirements of this code are mandatory and will be in force by the 1st July 2004.
To this end our Marine Superintendent has taken on the responsibilities of Company Security Officer. All of our Technical Superintendents have received CSO training and will fulfill the role of deputy company security officer for their vessels. All of our Masters and senior Chief Officers have now recieved training as Ship Security Officers.
Bureau Veritas, acting on behalf of the Irish Administration, have approved the Ship Security Plans for all our vessels.
